Privacy Policy

BrewHalla ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by Michael Roberts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using BrewHalla, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile picture.
• Recipe data — Recipes you create and choose to save to the cloud, including ingredients, batch notes, and brew settings.
• Brew logs — Batch logs and fermentation records you choose to save.
• Subscription status — Whether your account is on the Free or Premium tier, and subscription expiry dates.
• Community activity — Recipes you share publicly, likes, and brew logs associated with community recipes.
• Device data — Basic device information collected by Google Play Services for crash reporting and billing.

We do not collect payment card details. All payments are processed securely by Google Play Billing.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and sync your recipes and brew logs across devices
• To display your recipes in The Great Hall community library (public recipes only)
• To manage your subscription and Premium access
• To send you the 90-day Premium promo grant when you share your first public recipe
• To improve the app and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Storage

Your account and recipe data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is stored on servers located in the United States. Supabase applies industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Local recipes saved on your device (without signing in) are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

BrewHalla uses the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In — For authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing — For Premium subscription payments. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — For cloud data storage. Governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API — For the Recipe Forge AI feature. Prompts you send to Recipe Forge are processed by Anthropic. We do not store these prompts on our servers.

5. Public Recipes

If you choose to share a recipe publicly, it will be visible to all BrewHalla users in The Great Hall. Your display name (from your Google account) will be shown alongside your public recipes. You can make a public recipe private at any time by editing it and toggling the visibility setting.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below and we will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

BrewHalla is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your recipe data

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, row-level security on our database, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BrewHalla after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
